We left feeling we'd wasted our money and had a terrible stay. The setting in nature was the one good thing. The room was very old, spiders were everywhere, the bathroom and toilet door wouldn't shut unless forced, and the flush was broken and held with tape. Since the room didn't seem to have been prepared when we arrived, we also had real doubts about how clean it was. I live in the countryside and keep a clean home, so this wasn't just me being unused to spiders. There was no electricity when we arrived, and we had to ask for it to be turned on. My partner got only cold water in the shower. We reported it and nothing was done, so I had to go elsewhere to get a hot shower. The manager then told me, unconvincingly, that she was trying to be pleasant. At more than one hundred euros at full price, that sort of problem and remark should have been handled much better. We had booked late, but if the service couldn't be provided properly, I would have preferred the booking to be canceled so I could go somewhere with better service. Breakfast was the worst part. There was one hot drink each, juice, one muffin for two, two waffles, and a dried fruit bar. I gave a waffle to my son, who was under a year old, and took a bite myself, then spat it out straight away because it was moldy. The muffin was burnt almost black on the back, so we ate the cookies I'd brought instead. When we told the manager, all she said was, "Oh, what a shame." My child had already eaten a moldy waffle. The good reviews had made me hopeful, but we were treated as if we were just gullible people with wallets. Given the lack of respect, I really wouldn't recommend going here.

This was back in 2019. I couldn't reach the owner by phone, even though I'd left messages several days ahead. I ended up waiting in the car for about an hour in the rain with two young children because she was at work. She told me I should have entered my arrival time on Booking, even though the website clearly showed an option to contact her by phone and listed her number. She didn't apologize. When we got into the cottage, she unexpectedly asked for another €20, although I'd already paid online. For about 20 minutes she insisted I'd only declared one child on the booking. I checked, and it clearly listed both children. Then she said Booking was costing her money because I'd received discounts through the site. Why use the platform, then? I didn't pay any extra. At least she did offer a small mattress for the bottom of the travel cot for my six-month-old daughter. My wife was bewildered by the suggestion, since babies usually sleep on a hard surface. Add a bed that seemed to belong to another era and the decor, and it was not a great night's sleep. We've stayed in better places.

The mountain views were magnificent, and I loved unwinding with yoga and long walks through the forest and countryside. Chantal prepared delicious meals with such care 🙂 I'd happily recommend a stay here.

It was peaceful and a lovely place to recharge, with parking, a warm welcome, a good choice of rooms, and good value. There are also yoga, relaxation, walking, and massage classes to join. Meals vary and are mostly vegetarian. Thank you, Chantal, for making us feel so welcome and for your good cheer. I highly recommend it.
