Westotel Taverny - Paris Val d'Oise

We'd booked and paid through Booking.com using iDEAL, but on arrival they required a credit card for the deposit. I don't have one, and they wouldn't accept my bank card as a guarantee or let me pay cash. We were exhausted after a long trip from Spain and just wanted one night near Paris to rest, but the staff showed no respect or empathy and offered no flexibility. We ended up without a room despite having paid, and still haven't got our money back. Very unfriendly and unprofessional. Not recommended if you're looking for some humanity and good service.

They take a 150€ deposit as soon as you arrive, and for the price the breakfast was incredibly poor and cheap, with hardly anything to eat or choose from. The pool is heated and indoors, but it's closed. This hotel doesn't deserve the price or its 4 stars. It's so expensive for what it is, and I would never recommend it.

I stopped in to use the hotel facilities while charging my car at the Tesla chargers. Dogs aren't allowed inside, and there was no outdoor seating, so I couldn't sit down for a drink with my dog. They did offer a takeaway drink, but I had nowhere to enjoy it except standing next to the car.

The hotel is new, clean, and nicely decorated, and I want to like it. But for someone who stays in hotels every week for work, those little details matter, especially at a 4 star place. Breakfast needs work. There was no orange juice, which seems like one of the most important breakfast basics. The plates were small, so we needed 2 or 3 to fit everything, creating more washing for staff too. The boiled egg machine was switched on but had barely any water, making it impossible to cook eggs. Cutlery had just been thrown into baskets. I've attached photos. I hope management reads this and improves things for the better. Merci.
