Le Clos des Sources Hôtel*** & Spa

The restaurant was really accommodating about my fiancée's gluten-free needs because she has celiac disease. We loved the food, the service, and the place itself, and the location was great too. Highly recommend.

The family who runs this place are lovely, and the whole setting has such a delightful feel. I've stayed here several times over the years and always make a point of stopping in when I'm in the region. It really is a hidden gem, a treat of a stay. After a long day hiking, the fantastic spa is just the thing. The indoor pool is wonderful in both summer and winter, and the rooms have upscale linens and towels and are well appointed. Be sure to reserve dinner in the dining room. We had a wonderful meal, and the foie gras was incredible.

The countryside setting is amazing, and our room seemed brand new. I liked how its style mixed modern touches with an old country feel. We stayed for three days, and the rooms were clean and new, with a perfect spa and great service. Breakfast was very good, with fresh bread, local products, good coffee, and great fresh-pressed juice. It isn't the sort of spread you'd get in a 500-bed house, of course, but it was nice. At the restaurant, one starter was fresh, tasty, and innovative. My wife was less keen on the pavlova dessert. The bar prices are on the high side. They gave us plenty of free refills of cold water for our hikes, and forgot to charge me for one cappuccino.

The pool was very nice, and a welcome stop after a long drive. Getting there was awkward, though, with one staircase down and another up. My wife has had two knee operations, so I went to the front desk to find someone who could open the ground-level access for her. The desk clerk sorted it quickly and was friendly, but the door had been locked and I think it should have been open already. It also left me wondering about the fire escape.
