Maison de la Bonne Vie

It was so quiet and dark outside on our country walk, with fresh air all around. Back inside, we slept soundly in a big bed with lovely linens. In the morning, the smell of freshly baked bread greeted us, along with local homemade marmalade and the hosts’ smiling faces. We felt welcome, rested, and ready for the day. Guido and Derk really went the extra mile, and we’ll definitely be back. The room was clean, nice, and very spacious, and the quality of materials throughout the B&B was better than you find in a nice hotel. The large living room felt warm with a fire in the fireplace. We had the option to dine with Guido and Derk, and over their recommended wine enjoyed a three-course meal made with local meat and fresh vegetables from a nearby farmer. We had lovely conversations with them over dinner. Just relaxing with good company, a real treat in the middle of nowhere. They first welcomed us with a glass of wine and asked warmly about our journey.

We only stayed four nights, and next time we’ll stay longer. Derk and Guido have made this a very special place, with thoughtful details everywhere from the moment we arrived until we left. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything felt beyond perfect. I’d recommend Maison de la Bonne Vie without hesitation, and can’t wait to come back.

Sunday brunch at Maison De la Bonne Vie was a real pleasure for the three of us friends. The food was memorable, creative, right for the season, locally sourced, and perfect in every way. The elegant, charming space and friendly, professional service made the meal all the more enjoyable. We’ve watched this dream take shape over several years, and it has certainly come to fruition. It was lovely to see the hosts at their very best. I’m sure we’ll return, and we’ll recommend it to others.

Everything about the property feels perfect, and Derk & Guido are kind, perfect hosts. What they’ve created here is an experience second to none.
