Le Clos Boisé

A cozy, nice hotel surrounded by vineyards, with a lovely view. Breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of everything, though nothing especially memorable. Worth staying if you're nearby and need a place to sleep.

We came by car and caravan from Germany after finding the campgrounds closed. The website offered a restaurant and wine tasting, so we booked two nights, but there was no dinner and nothing close by. The place is very remote, and we couldn't find the entrance. After two ridiculously long turnarounds, we finally got into the secured parking lot. The next morning, we went to the small, secluded parking drive and found shards of glass. Our Volvo, new 25 foot pull trailer, two new e-bikes, passports, cameras, clothes, and six months' worth of food were gone. Everything. She was gracious enough to call the police for us and not charge us for the stay, given our complete loss. There were no toiletries or security, just views. The rooms were cold and dirty, the TV channels limited, the bedding and furniture were awful, and so was breakfast. Locking your vehicle won't help if everything is gone when you wake up. Then you spend ages on the phone arranging a taxi and dealing with insurance, followed by shopping for replacement clothes. I still haven't been able to get a new passport since this happened in January 2022. Go somewhere else. We've travelled all over the world, including everywhere in the southern hemisphere and half the northern hemisphere in our 14 meter sailboat. We've had our dinghy, laptops, sails, bikes, cars, and flipflops stolen, but never anything like this. Since the driveway is so hard to find, I think it was an INSIDE JOB.

We loved this place, set among vineyards. The room was clean and spacious, and breakfast was included.

After a 1000 km drive, we slept well and found the mattress good. The surroundings were great for our dog. The room was okay and clean, but the bedding smelled really musty and unpleasant. We had to keep the window shut because of an odd stink coming from an exhaust duct. Breakfast was the worst part, even the coffee was undrinkable. We won't come back.
