The mushroom ravioli with a little truffle was a real highlight, absolutely delicious. We also loved the beef and cod, both cooked perfectly. It was such a pleasure to come back to this lovely place after its recent reopening. The food was excellent, and the staff were warm and attentive. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and would happily recommend it.
We left deeply disappointed after celebrating a birthday here on March 1st as a group of four. The €312 bill included a €50 bottle of white wine and no dessert. At the till, I raised what had gone wrong. They said they had taken note and offered a coffee and a bottle of water, then the owner offered a complimentary digestif, dark rum for the women. That didn't make up for the evening. The place felt far from semi-gastronomic. Loud music and activity in the next room disrupted dinner, my partner could see the toilet door, and waiters kept passing between the rooms. The bread was cold and soggy. Our beef fillet came medium-rare even though we had ordered it rare, and the four ramekins of mashed potato were cold. After reheating, they brought back all four half-eaten dishes, so it wasn't clear whose was whose. The food had been a letdown from the start. The menu and prices had given us the impression we'd eat well, but the first amuse-bouche was cold. The second had salmon we found inedible and not fresh, so all four of us sent it back. The waitress said nothing. The scallop tartare that followed had no taste, and we had to ask for lemon and salt. There was no sign of reflection from the staff or owner. I rarely post comments like this, but this was ridiculous. A legendary place reopening should have been a better experience. Catering and fine dining aren't the same thing. Avoid it.
For Valentine's Day, we went to Le Champenois restaurant and had a lovely meal in a warm, attractive setting. The chef and his team prepared generous, refined dishes that were beautifully presented. Service was excellent too, with friendly smiles and a bit of humor.
We were shocked by the nauseating smell in the hotel, especially in our room. Outside, it smelled of garbage, so we couldn't open the windows. The room itself was clean and had recently been renovated, but when we came back the next day, it hadn't been cleaned. We arrived on a Sunday, when everything was closed, and a hotel staff member told us there would be no breakfast. We were left with a dirty room and nothing to eat. This isn't a hotel, it's a dump. A disgrace!
We had an excellent gourmet meal on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2019. The decor felt authentic, and the atmosphere was friendly. The N4 highway makes access difficult, though there are plenty of signs to keep customers from getting lost.
