We slept incredibly well, and the quiet, cool interior made the apartment feel like something completely different. It’s built into the side of a rock face, with two floors, and the whole experience was amazing. There’s free parking and a big private outdoor area to enjoy however you like. It’s also perfectly placed for visiting local wineries or just taking in the countryside. I’m seriously thinking about moving into a cave full time now!

The place has the feel of a tiny artist’s studio tucked into a cave, really charming and unlike anywhere else. We were greeted so warmly, and the host was kind and welcoming throughout. A lovely experience.

The patio was a lovely spot, and the cottage itself is beautiful. The owner was friendly and gave us helpful advice. We were in a rush, so it’s a shame we didn’t have time to chat more. The spiral stairs up to the bedroom are difficult, so I wouldn’t recommend it for older people. I also wish the toilet in the bedroom had a ceiling enclosure. And this may just be me being fussy, but the fridge and oven could use a cleanliness check, along with the cobwebs in the bedroom corners. Still, I recommend it and hope to come back to stay in the second cottage right next door.

The decor is tasteful and charming, the bed is comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well. We also got a really warm welcome. I took off a star for two things: the soundproofing needs work, since we could hear all the conversations from the young couple next door, and even their lovemaking. For breakfast, it’d be nice to have children in mind too. Hot chocolate powder and yogurt would make a big difference.
