Hôtel restaurant l'Espassole

This is a friendly, family-run restaurant and accommodation. We stayed in room 25, which was spotless, with a soft bed and hot water. The parking just outside the room felt very safe, and we heard no road noise. Breakfast was 6€, simple but good, with lovely jams that were probably homemade. When we asked at the restaurant, they gave us water and bags for our travel thermoses for free. Their sweet dog Leona followed us around and loves a tummy scratch!

The service was kind, but communication was only in French. Finding the receptionist to get the keys wasn't easy, and the arrangement could be better. When you're exhausted, you don't want to wander around the whole area looking for your room key. The rooms are proper and modernized, and this is an inexpensive place for an overnight stay or a few days, though maybe not a two-week holiday. Breakfast is modest. The restaurant was closed both nights, so I don't know whether there is a restaurant or if it's any good.

The room was warm and humid even though it wasn't warm outside yet. The pillows were too firm for me as a stomach sleeper, and the shower head kept sliding down the rail, so I had to hold it while showering. There was no Wi-Fi password in the room, so I ended up using roaming and my phone as a hotspot. I didn't quite understand whether the restaurant was open from 7 to 8 in the evening, since the woman at reception didn't speak English.

For a regular hotel price, this is already a very good place to stay, and at this price it’s unbeatable. We had one of the new rooms, very clean and with a bed in good condition. It was much better than some more expensive places. I’d happily recommend it, even for a longer stay.
