The apartment was comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed. We also appreciated the free upgrade and the lovely views when we arrived. The pool and spa are beautiful, which was a big reason we chose Le Telemark, though the jacuzzis were out of order on 3 of our 7 nights. Compared with other Pierre and Vacances places I’ve stayed in France, the accommodation felt more like a good 4-star stay than a real 5-star one. What made the trip frustrating was dealing with the front desk. Our apartment was cold for the first two nights, and after more than five trips downstairs without useful help, a maintenance worker in the hallway explained the central heating and fixed it within an hour. It gave me the impression the desk team were new and didn’t know how the building worked. We’d paid a reasonable price for late checkout and explained that we’d be skiing all day before leaving in the evening. When I asked about using the spa later and leaving our bags somewhere, I was told bluntly we had to be out by 13:00 and there was nowhere to store luggage. The manager only came over after I pushed, but she was professional and sorted it out straight away. Checkout was uncomfortable too. Around 12:15 the cleaning team came in and started moving things while we were still in the apartment, so we left within minutes. When I returned the key, a clerk unpleasantly demanded that we move the car. Parking is hard to find nearby, and moving meant paying elsewhere and walking a long way. Our ticket said parking was valid until December 20, with no end time. The clerk got aggressive in front of other guests, which was embarrassing. The manager resolved that as well, though by then the damage was done. I’d been hesitant to book because I usually go by higher Google ratings, but the photos persuaded me. The property has a lot going for it, and with better front desk service this could easily have been a 5-star review. We shouldn’t have had to fight so hard for basic help. I hope things improve for future guests.

The apartment was advertised for up to 12 people but had only two bathrooms, which felt badly planned and nowhere near enough. Several bedrooms had roof windows that couldn’t be opened, leaving at least three rooms without any way to get fresh air. One of them smelled rotten, and with no ventilation it was unbearable to stay in. The shower didn’t drain properly either, and a persistent sewage odor spread through the whole apartment. Between that, the poor hygiene and the generally bad condition, the basic comfort was far below what I’d expect from somewhere claiming to be 5-star. This place is badly maintained and unsuitable for the number of guests it says it can accommodate. Definitely not worth the money. I strongly advise avoiding these apartments.

The sauna rules were bizarre: you can’t take your clothes off, and apparently a towel isn’t enough, so you have to shower in swim shorts after leaving the sauna. Never seen that anywhere else. Some apartments have decent rooms, but others have rooms with windows that won’t open, a terrible deal at this price. The Wi-Fi barely worked, which made working or streaming movies difficult. The service was terrible too.

The attic layout made the apartment barely usable, with every bedroom tucked under sloping ceilings. We were a family group of 7 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies, paying around 8000EUR for a four double-bedroom place, but it was far too cramped. There were only two small two-seater sofas, so we couldn’t all sit together, and the kitchen and lounge floor area was just over 5m x 3m. We visited a neighbour’s apartment and saw it had twice the living space, so the staff’s claim that all the rooms were the same size felt disingenuous. The nice photos we based our choice on were misleading, and the reality honestly ruined the trip. We’ve stayed at CGH about 6/7 times and they’re usually good enough. This was the worst one we’ve been to, and the rude way we were treated means we won’t return without major compensation. It simply isn’t worth the price. They’ve lost a customer for life. Poor show!

The ski room driers didn’t work, so our gear was damp every morning. Ski in and ski out also seemed to require advanced skills. Skiing back to the chalet felt dangerous, and we ended up walking down a narrow icy path with our young daughter to avoid getting hurt. The location was average, with no amenities close by. We paid an extra £4,000 for this holiday and really wish we hadn’t. We expected the luxury shown in the photos, but got a dirty room and arrogant staff. In the future we won’t use Ski World again, and we’ll be happy to go back to Crystal Ski. The value and service for what we paid were abysmal. We’d spent well above our usual amount for a better ski break and booked CGH Le Telemark through Ski World, but what we got didn’t match what was promised. The chalet photos on both Ski World and the official CGH sites were deceptive. The lounge and spa shots were accurate, but our room was embarrassing and nothing like the pictures. We were dropped at a bus stop and had to haul luggage and ski gear uphill because the driver said the minivan couldn’t turn around. That was a lie. Reception staff were rude and unhelpful across the board. The beds hadn’t been made properly. There were small stains on the duvet cover and pubic hair underneath. The sofa was covered in dog hair, the balcony had dog prints all over it, and there was a pile of poo beside the snow. The heating problem was brushed off and never fixed. Bathroom cups had toothpaste marks, and the chalet for 6 people had just one toilet. Kitchen equipment was below average. The nespresso machine barely worked, and we went through a bunch of pods each morning trying to get one cup. Some floor tiles were cracked, the knives were blunt, and there were no instructions for the oven. The TV wasn’t worth turning on.
