What made the stay work so well was the location. Restaurants at every price, bars, and coffee shops are all within 200 m, and Toulouse's main plaza is an easy walk away. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. Breakfast was very good: bread, butter and jam, with either a croissant or chocolatine (pain au chocolat), plus coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, and compote. We loved our stay at Arnaud Bernard.

I stay there for work one or two nights most weeks, and the price is very good for what you get. The staff are really nice, and the hotel has everything I need right in the middle of downtown. There's even a rooftop where you can take in the view over Toulouse's roofs.

The welcome at reception was lovely, and AB is in a superb spot, very close to the Musee Saint- Raymond. I really enjoyed the museum, especially if you're interested in marble sculptures or Roman and Greek history. There's also a good coffee shop near the hotel, across from the George and Dragon pub, which is very pleasant. Toulouse impressed me with its safe, friendly feel and its high-quality cafes, shops, and restaurants. Highly recommended.

The staff were nice and spoke English, and the A/C worked well. But the walls are very thin, there's no elevator, and we found ants in the washroom. The blinds also didn't block out the light. Overall, I'd rate the experience 2.5/5.
