Hôtel Royal Wilson

The bed was the main letdown, with a very thin, hard mattress, so that's why I'm giving four stars. The building is fantastic and has a real sense of history, and the interior design is unusual for this price. The location and staff were both amazing. A really cool place, and yes, I'd happily recommend it.

I came to Toulouse to experience France, not to spend money on a fancy hotel, and this place suited me well. It's economical, conveniently located, and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. The staff make a real effort to help you enjoy your stay. I had a climate control problem in my room, but they moved me the next day and the new room was much better. I'd definitely stay here again.

For a short city-center stay, I think it offers good value, and the breakfast was nice, though very basic. It was okay overall, but the hotel is really simple, as you'd expect from a two-star place. My room was clean, with shower kits and fresh towels. It faced the courtyard, where other guests smoked, and the cigarette smell sometimes drifted inside when I opened the door or window. There was also an unpleasant odor in the room, perhaps from the old carpet or something else. I was there as part of a bike tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is right in the city center, close to sights and public transport. For other kinds of stays, there are better options that are also cheaper.

I chose the dormitory, and it was lovely: safe and very clean, with a privacy curtain, bedside lamp, chargers, and a comfortable bed and pillow. What really made Hôtel Royal Wilson stand out was the incredibly helpful staff. Nadine especially went above and beyond with my transportation problems and offered other friendly tips. I highly recommend it.
