It's a step up from a youth hostel, and I was very satisfied with the stay. The rooms were plain but spotless, and the shower had plenty of hot water and two nice towels. Breakfast was simple but ample, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is a bit outside the city, though most places were walkable. Having a supermarket and pharmacy next door was handy. The street was busy but well lit and easy to cross, and I enjoyed walking along the canal.

From the street the hotel looks good, and reception is a nice space. The room could use fresh paint and better bathroom lighting. The evening and night receptionist watched football on his phone and ignored the guests.

The soundproofing was really poor and the price was high. The night receptionist was very friendly and nice, though.

Check-in was very quick. The staff speak English, which is a real help for guests who don't speak French.

We arrived very late, so we just needed a bed and a shower. The hotel is very basic, though cheap, and the shower was good. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. There was almost nothing in the room and barely any decor. A strange curved ledge seemed to be where a table might go, with something like an upside-down bucket for a stool. I'm sure Ibis could do better without much effort or expense.
