Appotel Malraux

The apartment was bright, clean, and decent, and the location was good. After a day sightseeing, though, a sofa would have been much better than a single bed for sitting and watching TV. We also could have used a duvet instead of a blanket. There weren't enough blankets to keep warm, so we borrowed the one from the single bed, which was meant for a three-person apartment. Luckily there were only two of us. There weren't enough spare pillows either. In the kitchen, the old electric hobs really need replacing, and some utensils were missing, including serrated knives, a corkscrew, a vegetable peeler, a grater, and a saucepan.

The apartment is handy for the tram, but I wouldn't recommend it for a tourist stay. It doesn't have the Loire River view that was advertised. Noise is a real problem inside: the soundproofing is poor, neighbors getting up at 5 am can be heard, and the entrance door slams through the night whenever a tenant comes in. It's on a busy avenue, with a traffic light right beside the building. When it's hot, opening the windows isn't really an option.

The place is well located, and the staff were helpful. The insulation is very good too. WiFi wasn't great, though, and there's no arrival kit, so you'll need to plan ahead. I'd recommend it otherwise.

It's right in the center, and I have no complaints about the cleaning.
