B&B La Héraudière

Our kids settled into the family suite right away when they spotted the toys waiting for them. We also loved the big, lovely garden and the charm of the old house. The hosts were friendly, and breakfast was delicious, with homemade ingredients. A wonderful stay.

The beds were really comfortable and everything was spotless. We were greeted warmly, and there was a secure place to leave our bikes while cycling the Loire. It’s a bit uphill and off the route, but worth the detour. Breakfast came with homemade yogurt and preserves, bread, and croissants. We would have liked some fresh fruit or perhaps an egg as well.

We chose this place for a more authentic stay and a chance to support a small local business, rather than spend the night in a hotel while travelling from Spain to Ireland. Dominique gave us a lovely welcome and went well beyond what we expected. Our room had lots of character, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. Breakfast was a treat, especially the bread and croissants, along with homemade yogurt. It really does feel like a little bit of country in the city. Though it’s outside the centre, you can take a short tram ride, and we were given a ticket. Dominique also suggested a place for dinner, which we enjoyed. Our only regret is that we didn’t arrive early enough to see Tours during the day. Great value for what you get.

Breakfast was one of the best parts, with cereal, croissants, homemade jams, and yogurt. We spent three nights here as three adults sharing a room with a double bed and a single. The room was comfortable, with a spacious adjoining bathroom, and the linens and towels were clean and adequate. La Heraudiere is a charming home in a quiet Tours suburb, with a large, peaceful garden. The off-road parking was handy for exploring the Loire by car. I highly recommend La Heraudiere.
