Such a convenient spot, with the train station on one side and a tram to other parts of Tours on the other. There are loads of restaurants and shops nearby. Everyone at the front desk was kind and welcoming, and breakfast was huge and delicious, including the cafe au lait. My room had a great view and was cleaned and made up every day. The bed was wonderfully firm and comfortable, and the bathroom with its glass walls was spotless. The toilet was in a separate closet, away from the bed, so I wouldn’t wake my husband. I’m still not sure why French hotels use glass bathroom walls, since turning on the light at night brightens the whole room! We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful hotel. Thanks for a great stay, I can’t wait to return.

We stayed for a couple of nights at the end of September 2025. The room was spacious, with a nice view of the city hall, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom ventilation was poor, and a sewage smell came from the bath drain and sink. The hotel was full, so we couldn’t switch rooms and covered the drains with towels. The hammam was still out of order, the jacuzzi was lukewarm and weak, and the pool was cold. It wasn’t much of a spa as advertised.

The location is great, but the place seems to be coasting on its old reputation. In mid to late August, the bar was shut Friday and Saturday night, and reception offered no apology. The spa had a steam room out of service and a broken jacuzzi. From the reviews, it seems the jacuzzi has been down for a year. The massage tables were worn and tattered, with bare yellow foam showing through the leather. I wouldn’t call that relaxing with your face on it. The bedrooms looked pretty, but the windows and lights were broken. My guess is the place is short of money, avoiding basic repairs and trying to make it through the summer. For what should have been a special weekend, we were offered 20% off two drinks to make up for the terrible service. We cancelled our dinner reservation and went elsewhere so we wouldn’t spend any more money there. Sad to see a nice place fall into such disrepair. Good luck, Oceania. I hope you get a more conscientious manager who takes care of you.

The front desk service was good, and the lobby has a grand feel. One night, another guest played the piano beautifully there. The location is very convenient for the train station. We booked partly for the hot tub and spa, so it was a letdown to find lukewarm water and barely working bubbles. The sauna was out of order and, apparently, had been for a long time. We’d been looking forward to warming up and relaxing after a chilly day in Tours. Past reviews suggest another guest had the same problem almost a year earlier, and Ocean L'univers still hasn’t fixed the amenities shown on its website. There was also quite a bit of paint peeling from the ceiling above our shower, possibly because the bathroom ventilation isn’t sufficient.
