The tour was fabulous, and I’m really glad I made the effort to go. I came to see the château where Maupassant was born, and the 90-minute guided visit was surprisingly good. It could be challenging for anyone who doesn’t speak French.

The walled garden was superb, and the château looked splendid. We visited the gardens, but didn’t stay overnight.

A huge park, lovely rooms, and such friendly hosts made this feel like a fairy tale. The location was amazing too. If you want to sleep in a castle instead of a typical hotel, this is the one.

The café’s selection is a bit limited, though that’s understandable, and the château view more than made up for it. There’s a small sitting area where you can take in the scenery. The place itself is beautiful, with a stunning château and garden, and the staff were very friendly. Just lovely. Thank you for the experience.

We only came for the vegetable garden and it was fantastic. The lady gardener was wonderful, so friendly and patient as she explained her work and shared advice and tips. We didn’t visit the castle or stay at the guest house.
