Camping Les Capucines

I only popped in for a look and didn’t stay, but the site seemed very organised and clean. There’s a tidy spot for bottles and cans, a kids’ playground, and a camper van wash area that costs €5. The beach is said to be about 1.km away, or a 16 minute walk downhill. Getting back up that hill sounds like a challenge, depending on your fitness! It’s a four star campsite.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived, and the place was so peaceful. The long drive down from Cherbourg faded from mind pretty quickly. Mornings came with lovely birdsong, and the dark skies were great for stargazing. It’s a 15/20 minute walk to the beach, which is lovely and has some WW2 history too. C'est fantastique!!

We visited Ploumanache by car and had a lovely meal in this lovely seaside town. We arrived on 16th September 19, near the end of the season, and everything was still being cared for. We also biked to the beach, though the long hill back out calls for an electric bike. Recommend a visit.

The facilities were well maintained, and the pitches were a good size, laid out nicely with some privacy. There wasn’t much shade, though, and poor weather kept us from exploring the local area.
