easyHotel Paris Charles de Gaulle Villepinte

Hugo at reception reassured me that I was in a safe area and would help however he could. My passport had been stolen, so although I was due to leave Paris on Friday 2nd Jan, I’m still here and have to stay at least until tomorrow. I’d booked this fairly cheap hotel through booking.com. When I realized I needed to extend, I booked directly with easyHotel and got 10% off by becoming a member. Hugo kindly kept me in the same room so I wouldn’t have to move. His colleague Vladimir was starting the later shift, and I spent some time talking with him too. Since I was alone, it was nice to have people to talk to. They both spoke English very well. Everyone on staff was helpful throughout, and I’d come back if I needed to. The room was a good size, and having a shopping centre right across the street was a nice bonus.

Self-service check-in and check-out meant no waiting, and when we asked for a hair dryer, the staff got one to us quickly and kindly. The bathroom only has shower gel, so bring your own shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste. We checked in late and the room wasn’t quite what we’d expected, but for the price we were satisfied. It’s close to the airport, a bus stop and a mall. The mall is about a two-minute walk away, handy for last-minute shopping, and the location made this good value for money.

For the price, the room was nice, with a comfy bed, a clean, spacious bathroom and toilet, and helpful service. The pillow was a bit hard. Getting a Bolt driver in the morning was difficult, with lots of cancellations, even though I had plenty of time. I started worrying and agreed too quickly when the receptionist offered to call a taxi. He was helpful, and said the fixed fare was 25 euro, so I accepted. The driver ended up charging 30 euro for a ride of less than 10 minutes. Lesson learned! Apart from that, pretty good overall.

The location was handy, about 10 minutes from T1 at CDG and very close to Aeroville. We stayed two nights, but parking cost around 36 eu, as if we’d parked for three days. We arrived at 5pm on January 3rd and checked out at 5am on January 5th, so that charge was unexpected. I might stay here again, but without a car. Thank you.
