The French Country Cottage - Les Chouettes

Karen suggested a paddle down the Dordogne, and floating through that picturesque scenery for 40 minutes was so relaxing. She also recommended a great lunch and wine tasting not far from the cottage. On my two trips to Trémolat, I've stayed in both The Barn and The Cottage, and both visits were fantastic. Karen is a superb host and makes sure guests are looked after in every way. The location is easy to reach from several airports, with large supermarkets along the way if you need supplies, while the local town has fabulous fresh produce. I just wish we'd had more time to try all of Trémolat's best offerings. I'll definitely be back!

We had a beautiful stay at les chouettes. The barn and cottage were both lovely, clean and well equipped. Karen was a kind, very helpful host who made sure we had everything we needed. There's plenty to do in the area, and we'd definitely stay again!

Les Chouettes was such a great stay, and we'd definitely come back. It's lovely for a big group, with plenty to do nearby, whether that's canoeing, wine tasting, visiting markets or just relaxing at the house. The host was super helpful, with lots of recommendations and always willing to assist with specific needs. A gorgeous French countryside trip, 10/10 recommend.

I wanted to respond to the review below because there isn't a way to comment directly. Emma, you arrived at the scene of a crime just after the owner had been murdered, then chose to leave a one-star review. This wasn't bad hospitality, but a violent tragedy that devastated a family and left the community grieving. No one contacted you because there was no one in charge anymore. The woman who would have welcomed you was the victim of an unspeakable act. Instead of showing even a little compassion, you rated your disrupted holiday as if it were just a late check-in. Shame on you. The owner didn't cancel at the last minute. She was killed. That's a tragedy, not an inconvenience. I hope you'll reflect on the seriousness of what happened and reconsider the effect of your words.
