Résidence Saint-Yves

I booked two five-day stays for work and emailed about when I’d arrive, but got no reply. An hour before I was due to arrive that evening, I called and was told my reservation had been cancelled. Booking.com hadn’t been told, and neither had I. She’d seen my email that morning and still didn’t let me know. I called again later to get Booking.com’s number, but she didn’t answer and was on voicemail. No apology, no help. I can’t speak to the place itself since I don’t know it, but the management is nonexistent.

The location is great, just a three-minute walk from Trestel beach, and there’s free parking. The residence is very quiet. The apartment has the essentials, but no Wi-Fi, though 4G+ coverage is quite good. What really brought down the rating was cleanliness and upkeep. When we got the keys, the apartment had only had a superficial clean. Look up and the ventilation outlets are caked with grime that’s been building up for months, and plenty of other corners were just as dirty. Such a shame, because the place has a lot of potential.

The apartment is spacious and bright, with a large terrace and a beautiful sea view. Trestel beach is only a two-minute walk away, and the place is well equipped, including a washer-dryer combo. The owner was friendly and very helpful. Just a couple of small things: the pillows and blankets smelled a bit dusty, and duvets would be nice in Brittany in April. Still, that view is fantastic!

We arrived late, but after we called the owner, a young woman still came out to greet us. The apartment was really nice and had everything we needed. We’ll come back, though the mattress on the sofa bed in apartment B5 really needs replacing.
