The room was warm, comfortable, and had a design all its own. We really enjoyed our stay, especially the swimming pool inside a cave, which is open year-round. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was enjoyable, though adding fresh vegetables such as tomatoes would improve the selection. There’s no restaurant on site. You can order prepared meals, served beautifully, but that may not suit everyone’s expectations, so it’s best to plan ahead. The nearby village has restaurants, but they were all closed when we visited. Keep that in mind if you’re arriving on foot.

The welcome from the staff was warm and attentive, and they made sure we had what we needed for a relaxing stay. Cleanliness and attention to detail were impeccable. Our room had a cozy but refined feel, and the troglodyte setting made the visit feel special. Logis Hôtel Demeure de la Vignole brings history, elegance, and modern comfort together with a charm that caught us from the moment we arrived. A real hidden treasure.

The peaceful atmosphere at Logis Hôtel Demeure de la Vignole made it easy to switch off and enjoy our holiday. We spent three nights there while visiting the Saumur region, and really loved the troglodyte swimming pool. It’s a truly unique feature. The lodge staff were friendly and dedicated to looking after their guests, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. As French people living in Sweden, we look for somewhere memorable whenever we holiday in France. This charming 12-room dwelling fit the bill, with a mix of traditional and troglodyte rooms, each distinct and tastefully furnished. We discovered it in Turquant this year. If you’re passing through Saumur, I can only recommend Logis Hôtel Demeure de la Vignole.

The pool was clean and unusual, built right into the rock, and breakfast was lovely. Our room was very clean too. The owner was friendly and made everything easy for us. Parking is tight, but manageable. Local restaurants are easy to get to, and the food was lovely. The owner knows the good places to eat, so listen to his recommendations!

We’ve stayed at Logis Hôtel Demeure de la Vignole three times, in 2004, 2022 and 2023. Each visit we had a different room, and every one was excellent and individually decorated. The atmosphere is captivating, with chateau-like buildings set against former troglodyte caves. Some of those caves have become stunning hotel rooms and a magical swimming pool. What makes the place special, though, is the husband and wife who host it. Their kindness and personal touch are rare. They make guests feel at home and cared for, and they’re special people. We’re looking forward to staying with them again.
