For 65 euros, we got a twin room with no improvements, in very poor condition. The bathroom was tiny and had no liquid soap, towels, or shower gel. The price is far too high for what you get. The worst accommodation experience of my life. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Camino de Santiago, first day, 4 April. Visited April 2025.

After a very long walk, we finally reached our hostel. Bincente was a friendly host, and the clean room for eight was a good place to rest after a long Camino day on the way to Santiago.

We passed this albergue while heading to Orisson. It looked like a nice place, though it’s up a really big hill. It would have been great to find a drinks machine, but sadly they don’t serve sandwiches or drinks to passing pilgrims. It’s only open to people staying there. Seems like a missed opportunity.

The owner at La Coquille made sure the pilgrims staying there got a great start to the Camino. He’s lovely, and the garden, atmosphere, and views were beautiful. The breakfast was the best of my whole Camino. I couldn’t have asked for a better start in SJPDP. Merci beaucop, and hope to see you again one day!

The views are outstanding, and the hosts are lovely. My twin room had an issue with damp, unfortunately. The place is up a small hill from town, so just be aware of that, though it wasn’t a problem for me.
