The kids had a great time with the pool to themselves, plus a huge play barn with a bouncy castle and games. The lake setting is lovely. It was 42 degrees while we were there, so we couldn’t make much use of the outdoor activities, though the ziplines, obstacle course and pedalo boats looked fun. We also saw an impressive outdoor theatre show by the lake. We stayed one night in Grand Nord, a quirky little hobbit house tucked into a shady private spot. It was tiny, so I wouldn’t stay there long, but it worked well as part of our road trip. There’s no on-site restaurant, though reception serves drinks and ice creams. We loved the breakfast basket of pastries and condiments delivered to the tree stump seating outside our cabin. The on-site electric car charger was helpful too.

The surroundings are beautiful, though the hotel is very remote. Service was very kind and quick, and breakfast was delicious. There’s no restaurant or bar, so bring your own food and drinks. Credit cards are accepted, and parking is available free of charge.

I came here for a wedding, and the venue is gorgeous. The hotel is small and nice, but it’s in a very isolated spot. There are country-themed rooms, though Mexico was probably the least impressive theme. Ziplining, canoeing and other outdoor activities are on site. Without a car, there isn’t much within walking distance. Our group arrived late, after dinner service had ended, and walked about a mile down the road hoping to find food. The pizza place turned out to be a vending machine.

Quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful setting. I’d make a point of staying here again.
