Gites La Tourelle

Leontine served a lovely breakfast, and the smallest of the three nicely decorated gites was very comfortable for two. There’s also an honesty bar for when you want a little something. Molosse, the owner’s lovely dog, greets you with a wagging tail and a friendly manner. A real gem in Burgundy.

We came home today with such fond memories. Between the fantastic views, the lovely pool and the enthusiastic hostess, this was a wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed the calm of the French countryside, visiting its picturesque villages along winding roads. We also browsed lots of antique and thrift shops and found some great bargains.

The cottage has a magnificent view, and the pool gets sun from morning through evening, which was pure bliss. We spent three nights there with friends, enjoying the quiet and the nature all around us. Léontine welcomed us so warmly. La Tourelle is comfortable and friendly, a real peaceful retreat that we highly recommend for a family or a group of friends.

We weren’t happy with the stay, though hospitality wasn’t the problem. A lightning strike knocked out guest Wi-Fi. There was Wi-Fi elsewhere on the property, but guests weren’t allowed to use it. After eight days the Wi-Fi came back, though there was still no signal in the cottage or the garden beside it. The bedrooms got very warm, and their windows were tiny and had no fly screens. The pool was about the only activity for our teenagers, and both the bakery and the restaurant were closed for several days while we were there. The garden wasn’t fully fenced. We booked a hotel and left after a week.
