Great, English-French 1865.

We arrived after dark to find the doors and windows open. Since the village is small and close-knit, we felt welcome everywhere, even though our stay was only two days. My friend and I were the only guests at that time of year. The hostess was a very nice American woman. The house itself is an unusual old place made of stone and wood, with a basement and attic that felt straight out of a horror movie.

I found this beautiful old house in a remote area by chance. The rooms are roomy but very rustic, and there’s a fully equipped kitchen guests can use. The shower is shared. The hostess is friendly and offers mushroom-picking courses.

The outside is attractive, and I loved the nice breakfast. Inside, it’s clean and very pretty, with English-style decor, lots of flowers, high ceilings, and a huge bathroom. It feels like being at your grandparents’ house. I loved it!!!
