Hostellerie Le Beffroi

The views are great, and the garden is a lovely place to eat. We enjoyed the food, with its careful attention to detail, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The place itself is old and authentic. But it’s well outside town, at the top of a very long, steep hill, so walking down for dinner and then coming back up feels very inconvenient. The stairs to the upper floors were rough: old stone, narrow, steep, and uneven. There’s no elevator.

The views were amazing, and we were treated so nicely by the staff. The rooms have an old-fashioned look that I found very French and lovely, and they had what we needed and were clean. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful with that view, though it was a bit chilly early on before it warmed up. There’s parking, but getting through the old city walls by car is a little tricky. You can leave the car at the top of the small hill next to the hotel, though I preferred parking below and walking. I found it a bit expensive, but now and then it’s nice to treat yourself. I stayed here two weeks ago and would definitely come back. Thanks for the experience 🫶🫶🫶🫶

We had an amazing view from our room, and the food was good. The rooms were nice, and the staff were lovely. It’s a really cool spot in the heart of the medieval city. I’d stay here again if I get the chance to return to the area.

That terrace breakfast, with the view over the city, was the best way to start each day, and the staff, especially at breakfast, were attentive to every detail. I spent three nights here with a tour group in the older second building, and it was my favorite hotel of the whole three weeks of travel. The room was charming, with a spectacular view down over the city from the medieval hillside. The walk into town is short but steep, with plenty of charming shops and good places to eat nearby. One hot afternoon, sitting by the pool with my feet in the water, listening to the fountain and watching swallows fly up to the tower, felt absolutely perfect. I can’t say enough about this hotel. I hope I can come back someday.
