Résidence Odalys Les Jardins de Val - Les Verdets

The apartment at Route de la Balme was dirty when we arrived: the cutlery was unclean, everything was dusty, there were human hairs in the bedding, and the kitchen drain didn't work. The Wi-Fi didn't work either. We stayed one night, then had to move elsewhere. The reception was meant to be open when we arrived, but nobody was there. When we complained and asked for a refund, Odalys told us to write to an address in Paris. We did, including photos, and followed all their instructions, but never got a reply or our money back. Bad form. We'll never book here again. Think twice before booking. :-(

The apartment is basic and the rooms are OK, though a larger person might have trouble getting up the stairs. Its big advantage is the location: you can ski all the way to the door and straight back out to the lift, so I never had to walk home in the evening or head to the lift on foot in the morning.

The mountains are right outside, which is a good thing, because the rooms are small and have four children's bunk beds. The shower has no hook, so you have to hold it yourself. I wish I'd paid a little more for somewhere better.

It's very, very basic, but warm, clean, and dry, so it works for us. If you're serving or former military, this place is OK. Civilians probably won't like it.
