Victoria Lodge, Friendly Hotel

We slept badly on the very hard beds, and there was no mattress topper when we asked. The room was so tight that the bed blocked the closet door. That makes us unsure about coming back, even though the location is fantastic and the staff are lovely. The bar, lounge, and other shared spaces felt cozy, and the sauna area was great. Breakfast tasted very good, but refills took ages and some items were often gone. We had booked months ahead, then found the room was €100 cheaper on some days than the rate we'd paid six months earlier, which was disappointing.

The location makes it easy to get around Val d’Isère, with the lifts and village center a short walk away and a bus stop right outside. The rooms are clean, modern, cozy, and comfortable, and some have balconies with mountain views. The beds are plush, just right after time on the slopes. At ‘Les Toits de Val d’Isère,’ breakfast is fresh and plentiful, and dinner stands out for its quality and local flavors. The staff are warm and attentive, quick to sort out problems like lost luggage and happy to offer thoughtful local recommendations. With the food, rooms, service, and amenities together, Victoria Lodge is a great value and an easy recommendation for a comfortable stay.

The room was comfortable, with a nice bathroom, and the hotel felt modern and well kept. I could book a free spa session for the sauna and hot tub. There’s also a bar with a TV and good food, a ski rental shop next door, and a free bus stop just a minute away. The main lifts are about a 10-minute walk. I’ve just come back from a five-day stay.

The spa and game and chill-out space were a lovely part of our stay, and the rooms and facilities were very clean. Breakfast and dinner were great too. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the manager to reception, kitchen, bar, and housekeeping staff. A special thanks to the reception team for making our stay and ski experience so wonderful, and to Thais at the restaurant for her excellent food and wine advice. We had a great time at Victoria Lodge and will definitely come back.
