After a long day on the Route du Grand Alps, this hotel was a welcome stop. We walked in without a reservation and got a warm reception. The standard rooms have a bathroom and a separate toilet, and ours had good beds plus the extra benefit of a balcony. Restaurants are within walking distance, though the beer at the hotel bar was so good we were happy to stay in.

My son was racing in Valloire, but the race dates changed after I’d booked a non-refundable stay through Booking.com. The hotel agreed to change my booking without charging extra, even though they didn’t have to. They were quick to answer my parking questions and really helpful throughout. It feels like a caring, family run place. Our room was a good size, clean and warm, with a comfy bed. The refurbished bathroom had a great hot shower after a long, cold day watching my son on the slope. I can’t fault the hotel. It’s now my first choice for races in the area, and I’d happily spend a week here if I didn’t live a couple of hours away. Right in the centre of town, with beautiful Valloire and some great skiing nearby. What’s not to love?

This was my third year in a row staying here during a motorcycle trip. The hosts are very friendly and speak English, and the rooms are good and quiet. It’s right in the center of town, with free garages for both motorcycles and cars. A nice place to stay.

L’Aiguille Noire hotel is right in the heart of Valloire, and we found it the best place for a holiday here. The owners are extremely kind and helpful, always offering spot-on suggestions based on the weather, what you like, your age, or the size of your group. The atmosphere is pleasant too. Valloire itself is an elegant resort with all amenities within walking distance and loads to do, from skiing and ice skating to back country skiing and biking. We had a short trip to this little slice of heaven and will definitely come back in summer!
