Hotel Le Prieure Des Gourmands

The best part was the staff. When they were around, they were genuinely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and practical, but the meal and room felt expensive for what we got. Dinner was okay, though it seemed prepared ahead and probably reheated. Breakfast was very basic, with baguette and croissants that seemed to be from the day before. The building has plenty of charm from the back, but the terrace doesn't seem to get used, and the place now feels geared toward business travelers, more like a motel than a hotel. We arrived at 5 pm on a very hot day and thought it was closed. A note in French on the door eventually told us to call for the entry code. Staff came in at 6, so that was when we could finally get a drink. The only beer was Leffe, one I don't like, and I don't know anyone who does. The staff get five stars from me, the building three, and pretty much everything else two.
