We stayed four nights in a double room in August 2018. The continental breakfasts were excellent, served in a pleasant dining room overlooking the garden. Our hosts were warm, welcoming, and helpful with tips for exploring the area. The room, in the charming 18th century building, was spacious, beautifully furnished, and meticulously clean. We also loved the view over the garden behind the house. If we're ever back in Valognes, we'd stay here again without considering anywhere else.

We wanted to return to Normandy because it had touched our hearts, and La Closeroe D'Azelie was a big part of that experience. The 18th century stone home has spacious, comfortable rooms, decorated beautifully in an eclectic mix of old and new. Sylvie and her husband made everything feel easy and worry free. They were thoughtful, caring, and attentive to our every need. We can't wait to come back.

The mayor had highly recommended this place, but the experience was disgraceful. The old biddy boasted, "We treat people based on who they are, we treat the biggest stars." Maybe we didn't meet the criteria. Breakfast was appalling, with bad coffee, stale cornflakes, and a hard croissant. The room was adequate, but the garden was poorly maintained, and there was no shampoo. It was far too expensive for what it was, and the staff made us feel uneasy. Avoid it at all costs. The town hall will be handling promotion of this place soon.
