Kyriad Prestige Vannes Centre – Palais Des Arts

I realized right after booking that I'd accidentally chosen the wrong month. I emailed the hotel to explain and politely ask to change the dates, making clear I was happy to pay any difference. There was no reply. I tried through Booking.com too and heard nothing, so eventually I called. When I asked to speak in English, the tone changed noticeably, which felt impolite and unprofessional. Every time I got in touch, I was told to handle it through Booking.com. Their customer service was very helpful and sent the hotel an official request explaining what had happened, but the hotel had the final say and needed to confirm it. I only wanted to move the dates, not cancel or get a refund, and I was willing to pay the higher rate. The hotel still refused to approve the change. It was an honest, simple booking mistake that, in my experience, a four-star hotel could have handled with basic courtesy. After the way I was treated and reading other negative reviews, I came away with the impression that THIS HOTEL MAY NOT BE VERY WELCOMING TO INTERNATIONAL GUESTS. I'd also seen comments about the location and condition of the hotel, so in hindsight I almost feel relieved I'm not staying there.

A very good breakfast and polite staff. The rooms were lovely, clean, and spacious. It's a great place to stay if you don't mind being outside town.

The only little drawback is getting to the city centre: without a car or bike, it's a bit far, about a 25-minute walk. There is a bus for 1.5 euro, though. The hotel itself is nice and fairly quiet, with very friendly staff and a great breakfast. They served mostly local food like crepes, cheese, and far breton. I'd recommend it. Great experience overall.
