A couple of practical pointers for getting there: don't rely on Google Maps at the end. Drive through Varages, then go uphill for two or three kilometers toward Domaine de La Blaque, following the signs from the main road. The last few hundred meters are on easy country lanes, then there's parking and a short walk to the main house, where Caroline or her husband Jean-Luc welcomed us. It's a dream spot surrounded by Provençal nature, with the feel of a grand old estate that's immaculately kept. Beautiful rooms, a fantastic pool, and a charming breakfast area. The internet was the fastest we had on our whole trip. The hosts are incredibly friendly and part of a family of passionate tennis players, and the hard tennis court on the Domaine was the icing on the cake for us :) It's a great place to relax. Varages is a five-minute drive away, with a restaurant, bar, and small shop. Valensole and its lavender fields are 45 minutes away, and the nearest large supermarket is about 20 minutes away. From Nice, the drive takes just under two hours.
