L'Escale

The place is peaceful and surrounded by greenery, and there’s covered parking. The owner was welcoming. It worked well for two adults and two children, or possibly a third young child if you bring a travel cot or extra bed, after checking with the owner. There’s what you need for morning coffee or tea, and the bedding is good. The bed does creak with ordinary movement, though, so it could wake a baby sleeping beside it in a travel cot. A few things could use attention: dust on the doors, the shower, hair and fur on the single bed sheets, and the floor, which looked clean when we arrived but was a concern with a crawling baby. The decor is simple but dated, particularly in the kitchen. The large fixed shower head is worn and awkward with young children, and a small hand shower would help. There’s also no curtain between the kitchen and the children’s room.
