The countryside really calms you down, and this is an ideal place to recharge. It's a long way from the rat race, where you can be accepted for who you are, not what you are or think you are. This is a simple, no-stress kind of stay, with no extravagance, in an area away from the main routes. The accommodation is in a family ancestral home, and the space has been put to good use. The owner has shaped the business around himself and is passionate about his simple homemade food. He's a quiet sort of character who doesn't impose anything, but lets you discover something a bit different. Don't expect a five-star hotel greeting or service.

We liked it so much at this cosy, friendly place that we decided to add another night. The rooms were very clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The real surprise was la cuisine. Their vegetarian dishes were amazing, full of flavour from the spices and made with fresh local ingredients. So good!

The vegetarian and vegan food was great, and we got a friendly welcome in a beautiful setting.

The hiking trails begin right at the property, which was a lovely extra. I spent two nights at L’Asphodèle and came away delighted. Nature surrounds this beautiful place, and its thoughtful ecological approach felt refreshing. The meals were organic, homemade, generous, and delicious, and breakfast was excellent too. The building has rustic charm with an artistic touch, and it's easy to feel at home there, almost as if time had stopped. We received a warm, unpretentious welcome. The value for money is remarkable. I highly recommend it.
