We found plenty to do around the area, from Lake Saint Fereol and Cavayère to Carcassonne and some great restaurants. The chalets are nicely spaced out, so you don’t feel like you’re camping right on top of your neighbors, and the setting is relaxing. We’d worried at first that we might get bored, but the manager’s warm welcome and helpful tips made a great first impression. The kids’ club was a real help too, with care in the mornings and afternoons, plus Monday evenings so we could go out for a romantic dinner. They also offered all day Wednesday if we needed it. There aren’t any shops nearby, though, so it’s a 20-minute drive, and the only local shop is open Wednesdays and weekends. The pool is the municipal one, a little small, and only open in the afternoons.

The cottages were comfortable and clean, and Nathalie at reception was friendly and always smiling. It’s a calm, restful place to stay. Too bad the village grocery store is closing.
