Le Cuisinier en Combraille

The private terrace outside our room looked over the garden and countryside, and every room has one. It was so quiet there, apart from the cows. Our room and bathroom were beautifully decorated and really comfortable, with plenty of thoughtful extras. Jacob and Cees made us feel completely looked after, and nothing was too much trouble. We were the first guests of the 2022 season and had two lovely nights, though we wished we could have stayed longer. Jacob cooked two amazing four-course dinners, each with an amuse-bouche, and Cees printed menus just for us each evening. Such a special stay, a real gem. Thanks for having us, we hope to come back.

The rooms were so cozy that we wished we’d had more time to explore the garden and trails around the property. Every little detail seemed considered, and the furniture had clearly been chosen with taste. The welcome was wonderful, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was lovely. It’s an exquisite chambres d’ hotes in the middle of nowhere, and I’d recommend it without hesitation, even if you have to make a detour.

The price felt very fair, especially since dinner was practically like fine dining at a top-star level for the cost of a normal meal. Jacob and his team, whether friends or family, did a great job making us comfortable and helping us enjoy our time in the lovely cottage. We found the place by accident and loved it at first sight. What a discovery and a gem, this is sincere, unpretentious quality. Go if you get the chance.

The rooms are so thoughtfully put together, and the food is divine. Jacco and Cees are such lovely people and made perfect hosts. It’s a beautiful place in a stunning location. Fantastic stay, and I hope we see you again soon! X
