A l'Hotel des Roys

The Palace of Versailles is only about a three-to-five-minute walk away along the same road, and the location really is amazing. We stayed one night, on Thursday 21st August 2025, in Family Room 301 with our two children, aged 9 and 13. The room was lovely and clean, and the shower was a good size. It got a little warm, but there was a modern plug-in fan, and we opened the windows when it cooled outside as the sun went down. Staff gave us a lovely welcome and spoke perfect English, much better than my attempt at French. We'd read that street parking with a meter was available in front of the Hotel. The road is one-way, and we missed the turn at first because it's a sharp left off the main road. We parked right in front and I went in to ask about the meter. I was delighted to hear that parking is free in August, so we didn't have to pay. The one downside was that children over 12 are charged the adult breakfast rate. We chose not to eat breakfast there, though it was good that the hotel offers it. We'd definitely recommend the place and stay again.

We had such a lovely time at this cute, cozy, clean hotel. The reception team were so kind and helpful, and the service was remarkable. We'll definitely come back.

Every employee we met was welcoming and smiling, and we'd happily return. The hotel also offers fast-track entry to the palace, so you can avoid the queue. It's a great base for a visit to Paris and, of course, Versailles.

It has old-world charm, a lift, and great staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was good, with hot water and all. The location is excellent for walking to the Chateau and town center, and it's right next to the train station, about 30 minutes from Paris. The airports are an hour away. I recently stayed at Hotel des Roys in Versailles, a beautiful property, and I'll stay again.
