Les Bruyères sits on a quiet side street, with parking on site and lovely views of the river and the old, beautifully restored homes nearby. It's also an easy walk to the village restaurants, bistro, bar and boulangerie. Our room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and romantic, with thoughtful details. There was tea and coffee, a fridge, WiFi, TV and a lounge area, plus an in-room spa tub and a lovely en-suite bathroom. Breakfast costs extra, but it was delicious and well worth having. Roxann is a wonderful host. She was there whenever we needed help, while our own entrance keys meant we could enjoy as much privacy as we wanted. We were hoping to settle into French village life rather than spend our time sightseeing, and Roxann helped with dinner bookings, finding good gateaux, scenic drives, a lazy Sunday morning, places to have a drink with locals and plenty more. A memorable, lovely stay. Five stars, and we'd happily recommend it. Merci Roxann pour un sejour mémorable et agréable. A bientôt.

The gite at Les Bruyeres was spotless and very comfortable, with three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and extremely comfortable beds. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, too. Roxann was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay, and the fairytale village's sights and amenities are all within walking distance.

I've stayed at Les Bruyeres many times while looking for a house in France, and every visit has been better than the one before. Even though I now live an hour and 50 minutes away in central France, I always bring friends and family visiting from Australia here. Roxann is a fantastic host, and the accommodation is stunning. She puts in extra effort to make each stay memorable, taking us on trips to nearby villages and introducing us to the great businesses and sights in Verteuil. A place you shouldn't miss!

The garden is wonderfully peaceful, and the river view is stunning. Roxann made sure everything about our stay was just right, and we'll certainly be back. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Les Bruyeres Bed and Breakfast and Gite in the gorgeous village of Verteuil-sur-Charente. Roxann gave us a warm welcome, and the beautiful accommodation immediately impressed me. I stayed in the Nature Suite, with its hot tub and round bed. Don't miss it!

I've travelled extensively, but my trip last month to Verteuil Sur Charante and stay at Les Bruyeres was by far the loveliest place I've experienced. The hospitality, rooms, village and food were all exceptional!
