We only came for dinner, not a stay. The menu was very meaty, and the service was loud. Le patron seemed worried about clients showering 🚿.

Although the building looks attractive from outside, both of our rooms were characterless, and one had a toilet that didn’t work. We’d booked because bike storage and a garage were advertised, but the space seemed to be part of a function room, with just a chair against the door for security. We were told to leave the bikes unsecured in the yard until he was ready, even though it was open to the road. The owner was grumpy and unhelpful. English was advertised as spoken, but he certainly didn’t make that apparent. We would have eaten there, but the owner put us off, so we went to a friendly chip van in town that seemed popular with plenty of locals.

The chambers were cozy, clean, and a 10-minute walk from the city center. The bathroom is small, but there’s just enough room.

The rooms are small but practical, and the service is friendly. Dinner was tasty.
