Right in the heart of Vezelay, and just a block from the famous basilica, this is a wonderful hotel. Getting there takes a little figuring out, but the directions helped us manage it. After driving up the hill on the "residents only" road, you can unload your luggage, then park about 1/2 km away. The host was welcoming and helpful, making dinner reservations and sharing local tips. Our quiet room mixed 18th century decor with a marvelous modern bathroom. We passed on the 19 euros breakfast since we’d eaten late the night before.

The location was perfect, and the friendly service came with great attention to detail. Superb stay, especially the excellent breakfast. We’ll be back.

The staff were attentive and so friendly, and air conditioning in the room was a welcome surprise. It’s a lovely hotel in a beautiful spot, ideal for exploring the local beauty spots.

The rooms have some beautiful original features, and the hotel itself is okay. But the tacky accessories can make things feel cheap. Breakfast service was poor, and the coffee wasn’t great either. It feels like they count on the town being touristy and having few hotel choices.

Quaint to the point of being a bit of an adjustment, but the room was clean and very good, and I’d stay again. The approach is tricky, though manageable. There’s no restaurant, only a breakfast room, and parking is 500 meters away and paid.
