Ibis Styles Vierzon

The pool and little gym area were a nice bonus, and breakfast was a highlight for me. There was plenty of choice, despite some negative reviews, and the breakfast room was pleasant too. It’s right by the motorway, so a road-facing room can be noisy, but with the window and shutters closed I didn’t hear anything overnight. A good hotel for a one-night stop.

There are two restaurants next door, and the hotel serves evening meals as well. Getting here from the autoroute is easy, and everything looked clean and tidy except for one thing: the outer coating on the wire by the wall light above the desk was frayed.

A handy place to break up the drive across France towards Dunkirk. Check-in went smoothly, and breakfast was basic but there was plenty of bread, cakes, juice, and coffee. The rooms were fine, but much too hot, even though the hotel says it has AC.

We could eat at the nearby Pizza house, which was excellent, and the Tesla charging station let me top up the car for the next day’s drive. The hotel itself was clean, with modern, attractive design. Our room was quiet and the air conditioning was a plus. It made a very good place to rest on the way to the Dordogne.
