Village Vacances Le Junka

Le Junka is a great place to stay. The rooms are small but perfectly adequate for a night, and the shower is hot and works great. It’s near the ocean, shops, and supermarket, in a lovely little town. Summer gets packed with tourists, while the last three months of the year are much quieter and cozier. Big thanks to all the staff, and for the amazing breakfasts. See you next year! Merci bien.

The place feels like a time capsule from the 1960s, old and tired, and overpriced for what you get. On the plus side, the location is very central, check-in staff were friendly, and checkout was quick and efficient.

It’s shocking that people are expected to pay to holiday here. The outside looks really dismal, like social housing. I live nearby, and for the last two days I haven’t been able to sleep because a big group of very young partygoers have been drinking. We called the first time and nobody answered. When we rang again, someone said it would be sorted, but the group seems to have been left to run riot. During COVID times, with the curfew here at 9pm, surely this is illegal. They’ve been audible all over the neighbourhood for two days.

The view was beautiful, and it’s close to Hossegor and other villages where more businesses are open. But in the off season, everything was closed, the place didn’t feel very cozy, and the Wi-Fi barely worked half the time. I wouldn’t recommend staying there after September.
