Breakfast was generous, varied, and good quality, especially considering the service rating. The room was decent and clean, and the bathroom was adequate. The price felt high for the facilities, though there aren't many options nearby. The dog tied up in the house was the one real drawback.

The village is small and peaceful, with lovely old buildings, and the bedroom, living room, and bathroom were spacious. There was a coffee and tea setup, a terrace, and an enclosed courtyard. Breakfast was served in the hostess's large living and dining room, which felt cold, and her unreliable dog stayed there on a short leash. That wasn't pleasant. It would have been nicer if she brought the French breakfast to us in the living and dining room. She lives across the way on the first floor, and after breakfast we didn't see her again.

We found this B&B while looking for somewhere to break up our summer drive to Brittany with a night in Burgundy. The road through the little country village is spectacular, and the place itself is a beautifully renovated farmhouse. Our room was large, with its own sitting area, and the garden was very well kept. The owner greeted us with a smile and was wonderfully welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, with genuine homemade products. It's lovely meeting people like this. A perfect stay!

La Luterne is a lovely, peaceful place to recover after a day out, whether you're stopping for a night or spending a few days in Burgundy. We stayed in the room facing the flower-filled terrace, with its stone walls and comfortable bed. There was a tray with tea and coffee, plus lots of tourist information, and Virginie is happy to suggest places based on what you like. Seeing her in the evening after exploring was a pleasure. She runs the estate with such kindness and warmth. We had dinner there too, and it was excellent. In a region full of skilled artisans who care about tradition, it's hard to imagine eating badly. Breakfast had local jams, bread and pastries, very good fruit, and regional cakes. And Hervé's honey! The price is more than reasonable. The building is over 200 years old, made of golden stone in the quiet village of Villaines-les-Prévôtes. I slept so well, this must be where “sleep like a baby” came from. The location makes it easy to visit nearby medieval sites, hike, cool off in rivers, and wander through little villages with churches, chapels that haven't been overly restored, and traces of our history carved in stone. With autumn coming, the trees turning orange should make the area even lovelier to explore. La Luterne also has a charming barn with an upstairs dormitory and a separate bedroom off the main room, a good setup for a family stay. Thanks, Virginie, for such a warm welcome and a restful stay.

We felt right at home in this charming house. The owner was warm and welcoming, and breakfast was very generous, with local products. A great place to stay while visiting beautiful Burgundy. Many thanks, Virginie, for your kindness and hospitality! 👍
