Les Prés Verts

The meals were generous, and the owners packed picnic lunches for us while taking everyone's allergies and dietary needs into account, including gluten-free and vegetarian diets. We were here for a week of canyoning training. The cottage is ideally placed in Villard, and the rooms are simple but comfortable. Simple, but it does the job well.

Avoid this dilapidated guesthouse. There are so many drawbacks it's hard to list them all. The staff didn't seem pleased to welcome us, and whenever we asked for something, whether coffee after a meal or toilet paper, we felt like we were bothering them.

The common areas are spacious, and we spent some lovely evenings there during our sporty week at Gîte des Prés Verts. We were on a full-board plan and ate very well all week, thanks to the wonderful cook, Irène. Our rooms were simple but very clean. Thanks to Jean-Paul and the whole team for being so warm, kind, and helpful. We hope to be back soon. Arnaud and the canyoners :)

For a group of 25, they charged one cancellation and two extra meals, without deducting the cancellation. We're impressed. The meal itself was poor value at 15 euros: no starter, just a small lukewarm slice of tartiflette, then two scoops of ice cream in one fixed flavor. The main course was too small and very poor quality. Even the freeze-dried coffee wasn't enough for a regular cup. Staff were borderline unpleasant and certainly not gracious. Avoid this place; they clearly don't care about customer service.
