A Deux Pas du Rhéby

We only planned a stop in this quiet village, but ended up wishing we’d stayed longer. The meals were generous and full of local organic food, from the bread, cheese and coffee to the fruit, jams, cold cuts and honey. Thierry was great company, and we enjoyed talking with him about France after Covid. The old building has been modernized with real care, too. After a hot, tiring day on our bikes, he showed us to a spacious, clean and quiet room, brought up our bags, and offered organic lemonade. When I discovered a flat tire, he jumped in to help, even with my “abnormal” bike, and showed some real ingenuity. The room was so comfortable and the welcome so warm that it felt like being at home.

We’d happily book Chambres d'hôtels a deux pas du Rhéby again when we’re in the region. It works well for a quick overnight stop and for a longer visit alike. The host is friendly, easy to talk to, and helpful with local advice, and will even reserve a table at a nearby restaurant if you need one. There’s parking in the courtyard, and the quiet rooms have large windows, good furniture and comfortable beds. We slept very well. Breakfast was generous and tasty, too.

We were able to make dinner after a long drive, which was a big help with hungry, tired kids. The rooms were comfortable, the welcome warm, and breakfast kept all of us going for the next day's eight-hour drive. It’s a pretty village, and we’d stay here again.

After biking to Villebois, we were glad to find such a thoughtful B & B. Terry has covered the practical things, including secure bike storage with a place to plug them in and fridges in the rooms. There’s also a very nice pool. The meals were excellent, and Terry was very helpful.
