Right in the middle of Villedieu-les-Poêles, just across from the Bar au Centre, this hotel has a large free car park behind it. That's especially handy if you're staying Monday night, since the street market is there Tuesday morning and leaving your car out front could mean a substantial fine. There's a lunch formule restaurant and bar on site, plus a substantial buffet breakfast, though we chose food from the market. The owner is charming and gave helpful suggestions about the town and its history. The building dates to 1905, so expect a typically French climb up the stairs, with no lift. Enjoy the experience! I'd certainly come back.

My husband had the steak, and it was the best I've had in a lovely little restaurant. I tried some and still have food envy! I had the fish, which was great. My dessert was fab, though the cheese and biscuits portion was minute. I'm desperately trying to find an email address to ask for the recipe. Thoroughly recommend!

The staff were friendly and looked after our bikes, and the restaurant was nice. There's no lift, and the stairs look like an optical illusion. Breakfast was fine, though the coffee was very weak.
