We made good use of the pool, which was a real treat in 38°C heat, so the stay felt worth the price even though the basic room seemed a little overpriced. The rooms are clean and have what you need for a night, and the hotel’s been recently refurbished. There’s a lovely bar and restaurant too. It’s an easy, convenient stop close to the motorway, although there are cuter places further from the autoroute. Breakfast was a generous buffet, with continental options and some hot food like egg and bacon.

We only stopped for Sunday lunch, not for a room. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the staff were very friendly.

The vegetable meal I had was lovely, which is where my 2 stars come from. The night was awful, though. There were over 30 mosquitoes in the room and it made me feel sick. There was no air conditioning or fan, and we couldn’t open the windows. After our 8 pm meal reservation, we sat for at least 40 minutes without any service. It felt like the staff didn’t want to serve us, and they were unfriendly. I wish we hadn’t prepaid our stopover. If they’re unhappy, why take it out on us? Breakfast wasn’t worth paying for either. The coffee was super weak, the bread was allocated to you, and the fruit was tinned.

A very friendly host, plenty of parking, and quiet surroundings made this a handy place to stop while travelling. The rooms are basic, which was fine for us, and the restaurant was nice. It does what it does well.

The rooms are modest, but the food really makes the stay. The restaurant was really good, and the wine from the region was great, especially the rosé. Top stay.
