After nine hours on the road, we needed somewhere to sleep, but I really didn’t want to get into the bed. The room smelled of stale cigarettes, the floor was dirty, and the bathroom smelled too. The shower leaked, so we used towels to mop up the floor. The corridors were tired and had a funky smell as well. We’d stayed at another ibis budget hotel in Bordaux on our way through three weeks earlier, and it was much cleaner and better maintained. This place felt more like a backpackers’ hostel. I know it’s a budget hotel, but the care of the room and corridors was dismal. I’m glad we skipped breakfast. We won’t be back.

The hot water in the shower worked, and it was quiet, but nearly everything else made me uncomfortable. The floors in the room were dirty, and the corridors looked as if they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. The bedding was clean, but the mattress underneath was filthy. The whole hotel smelled bad, and the lifts stank of cigarettes. I’d stayed at similar Ibis Budgets this year, including the one in Tours, and they were so clean that I expected the same here. That was a huge mistake. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

My wife, our three-year-old daughter and I stayed in this post-apocalyptic hotel. The rooms were cramped and unclean, and the corridors were dirty and smelly. At check-in they charged 3 euros for our child’s breakfast and 6 euros for each adult. In the morning we found there wasn’t even a toaster. If you wanted cheese toast, the bread had to be heated as slowly as possible, and never became proper toast. Worst of all, not one coffee machine was working, so breakfast was coffeeless.

The room is tiny, and not suitable for more than two adults and one child.
