Breakfast was a real treat, with Isabelle's fresh bread, homemade jam, cake or tart, squeezed orange juice, fruit and cheese, plus all the tea and coffee you wanted. She was friendly and attentive throughout. We were in the area for the Tour de France finish in Roubaix, and the house made a lovely base: quiet residential setting, pretty gardens, and tasteful decor. It was nice to sit outside in the evening. There's free WiFi and tea, coffee and water in the room; a small fridge would have helped. Lille is easy to reach by public transport, and there are restaurants nearby, though we didn't try them. We'd happily stay again.

We found this place to be great value, with warm and welcoming hosts. Breakfast was homemade and included, and they pointed us toward some delicious dinner spots. The house and garden are beautiful.

Our stay in the blue room was comfortable, with plenty of space and a lovely bathroom. Having bottled water, tea and coffee in the room was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was generous and included homemade items. The host also works as a tour guide and knows the region very well. We highly recommend La Maison du Héron.

The breakfast was the highlight for me: homemade bread and jam, local cheese, and plenty of coffee or tea. The rooms were good and the location excellent, but it was the hostess's warm, personal welcome that made the house feel so hospitable. It's a small-scale place with the kind of personal attention a bed and breakfast should have. I'd love to return.
